A recent graduate of Iowa State University, Shane Bishop was named a graduate assistant athletic trainer to the nationally ranked Missouri wrestling program during the summer of 2006.

Prior to his arrival, Bishop served as an athletic trainer with the top-ranked Cyclone wrestling team and has gained valuable on-site experience during his time at the USA World Wrestling Trials (2005, 2006), Iowa State High School Wrestling Championships (2004, 2005, 2006) and with the Iowa State football program (2005). Bishop has also assisted with the Iowa State University High School extension program where he worked through ISU at an Ames, Iowa, high school and was in charge of varsity football, wrestling and helped cover both soccer and track. During his time with the extension program, Bishop ran all training room operations for the high school.

In 2005, Bishop worked as a summer intern for the Indianapolis Colts where he covered training camp as well as three pre-season games. One of the pre-season games included a trip to Tokyo when the Colts took on the Falcons.

In his season working with the ISU wrestling team, three individuals received All-America honors, with 141 pound grappler Nate Gallick winning the team's sole 2006 national title.

Bishop is a native of Mount Ayr, Iowa and received his bachelor of science in health and human performance/athletic training in May of 2006. The son of Randy and Christine Bishop, Shane has one sister, Mekenze and a brother, Kegan.
